The Bald Eagles

Hello Reader,

Dubuque, Iowa

Can you spot all of the bald eagles in this photo?

At Eagle Point Park there were always several bald eagles to spot. To the casual observer they can look like an over-sized crow, especially at a distance. After living in Iowa we have an eye for spotting bald eagles. Even in Colorado I can spot the one or two that occasionally fly around.

The Eagle Point Park

Hello Reader,

Dubuque, Iowa

Eagle Point Park was our favorite place to go for a walk in Iowa. We went to that park several times. Whether it be for a quick stroll after work or a picnic or photo excursion we loved to go to Eagle Point Park. The coolest animal you will spot at the park are the bald eagles. You could watch the Lock and Dam 11 from Eagle Point Park and have a fantastic view of bald eagles hunting or resting in trees. It was very cool to see so many bald eagles in one location.

The Lock and Dam 11 Ship

Hello Reader,

Dubuque, Iowa

Occasionally when we would be watching the Lock and Dam we would get lucky enough that  a ship would need to pass through. It was always interesting to see how much time and precision it took to pass through the lock and dam. It was definitely not an easy task!
