The Pie

Hello Reader,

Loveland, CO

Life is a piece of… PIE!

Well, it is according to Waitress (the play). Today myself, my husband, and his family all went to see Waitress. It was a fantastic play that is witty, heart felt, and fun. I highly suggest seeing the play if it makes its’ way through your town.

So have a slice on me!

The Wind

Hello Reader,

Rocky Mountain National Park, CO

“Winds in the east, there’s a mist coming in, like something is brewing, about to begin.”                     – Marry Poppins

The wind is howling today in Colorado. As said in Marry Poppins, the winds bring change. Today I was expecting change. Today I was set up for change. Today I was prepared for change.

However, I don’t think change is apart of my day today. Sometimes the winds bring us change and sometimes it just brings us one heck of a bad hair day. So when the winds start blowing pay attention, because sometimes change is coming.

The Home Reno

Hello Reader,

Mnt. Sherman, CO

Today is demo day at our house. It feels like our house looks like the picture above. And I know it will continue to look like the picture above for a month or so. We are updating out master bathroom therefore our bathroom is out of commission and our bedroom is a construction zone. So I will be tip-toeing around the second floor of our house for a while.

It is amazing that so much destruction is required for something so beautiful to be produced. Demo day is great reminder that during times of hardship or struggle, something beautiful is in the works. So keep digging through the drywall, tile, mortar, dust, and hardware because on the other side is a shiny, new bathroom.

The Shopping Day

Hello Reader,

South Africa

Today my mom, grandma, and I were on the hunt… For some good deals! Over Christmas break the ladies always try to get together for shopping at least once. It is always fun and we always end up with more than we thought we needed. But when the shirt is on clearance at $3 and they are offering 50% off all clearance you have to grab what you can! Clearance shoppers stand together and say “HURRAY!” for discounts galore!

The Next Day

Hello Reader,

South Africa

Today was not as magical as Christmas. We rolled out of bed today, got our workout in, ate some breakfast, and went on with our normal day. This morning my husband rolled over and said, “Today is the farthest day from Christmas.” Unfortunately he isn’t wrong. It is always so sad to see Christmas come and go. The music isn’t on the radio, the decorations start to go down, and normal life resumes. However, until the new year I like to think that a little bit of that Christmas magic still hangs around. So when you roll out of bed tomorrow, remember the magic.

The Inside

Hello Reader,

Florence, Italy

Today we will be staying inside. Away from the last minute shoppers and cold weather. So as we avoid the outside world, I look back on our favorite place in Italy. Florence was our favorite stop on our honeymoon. It was beautiful, full of culture, full of gelato, and full of romance! We highly recommend Florence to anyone visiting Italy.
